Pregravid preparation, pregnancy and lactation: specificity of using antioxidants, vitamins and minerals

The article discusses the properties of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals, their effect on the course of pregnancy and development of the fetus. Evidence of the incidence rate of hypovitaminoses and the consequences of micronutrient deficiency for a pregnant woman and the fetus are presented. The problem of interaction between vitamins and minerals is highlighted in detail. Data of studies confirming the necessity of dividing negatively interacting vitamins and minerals during intake are presented. Division of a daily dose into several intakes would permit to avoid not only undesirable interaction between components at the stage of storage but also at the stage of micronutrient absorption.
