The authors present modern methods of hormonal contraception. The role of efficient counseling in individuation of the choice of a hormonal contraceptive for each particular woman taking into account her psychoemotional and social status, medical  history, and environment is shown. Great significance is attributed to dialogue between a woman and her medical doctor in their  cooperative choice of the most effective, safe and convenient method of contraception.
