The article presents the results of clinical studies and research data referring to the role of magnesium in obstetrics and gynecology. The clinical studies dealt with the efficacy of the drug Magne B6. It is emphasized that the use of Magne B6 in pregnant women and gynecological patients requires a selective and differential approach. The main purpose of using magnesium preparations is to correct magnesium-deficiency conditions. Chronic magnesium deficiency developing due to improper diets and chronic stresses, and often leading to serious complications of pregnancy should be compensated in good time, not awaiting for the development of urgent situations, by taking specialized preparations of organic magnesium in the form of assimilable salts from the early terms of pregnancy- of them magnesium lactate and citrate have the greatest evidence base.
