Enterocolitis in premature children with intrauterine infection: specificities of the course and new approaches to therapy

The article discusses specific features of the clinical course of IUIs and NEC in premature children. The immunological status of premature infants with IUIs and necrotic enterocolitis (NEC) is described. The character of the changes of local and systemic immunity, and of the shifts in the composition of gut microflora of low-weight children is analyzed. The article presents the results of using the preparation «Cipferon® suppositories» in a complex treatment of premature children with IUIs and NEC. It has been found that Cipferon® considerably enhances the efficacy of therapy in this cohort of patients.
