Miscarriage of infectious genesis. Current approaches to treatment

The study dealt with the efficacy of using the sorbent «Polyphepan», «Euflorin B» and «Euflorin L» in a complex therapy of miscarriage in women at a high infectious risk. The examination involved 205 pregnant women with threatened miscarriage at terms of gestation 10–32 weeks, who had the following genital infections: nonspecific vaginitis, bacterial vaginosis, vaginal candidiasis, a combination of bacterial vaginosis and vaginal candidiasis and other mixed infections, including those of paraspecific etiology. The basic group (n = 102) received sorptive-probiotic therapy as part of a routine scheme of management of patients with threatened miscarriage. The reference group received only routine therapy. The reference group comprised 15 pregnant women with a non-complicated course of pregnancy and labor. Before and after treatment, all pregnant women underwent a full-scale microbiological examination with detection of markers of endogenous intoxication and levels of nitric oxide in peripheral blood. The application of the therapeutic scheme permitted to restore vaginal and intestinal microcenosis, to decrease the severity of syndrome of endogenous intoxication and to reduce the incidence of relapses of genital infections. A further course of pregnancy, labor, puerperal and early neonatal periods were analyzed in all groups. A stable clinical effect after using «Polyphepan» and euflorins permitted to reduce the incidence of premature childbirths by 3.77 times, as well as other complications on the part of mother and fetus.
